Srinagar: Minister of Education, Naeem Akhtar today said that there are 1581 posts of teachers vacant in Jammu division and the Government is taking steps for fast tracking recruitment of teachers to augment the education sector in the state.
The Minister was replying to a question of Sham Lal Bhagat.
Giving district wise break up of vacant posts of teachers in Jammu province, he said that 232 such posts are vacant in Samba, 406 posts in Kathua, 290 in Rajouri, 86 in Poonch, 268 in Udhampur, 72 in Reasi and 04 in Kishtwar, while as there are no such posts vacant in districts of Jammu, Ramban and Doda.
Akhtar further informed the House that under SSA and RMSA, 08 schools have been upgraded to the next higher levels in Doda district during the last 2 years. He said the Government will upgrade 112 schools in the state under RMSA, besides construct 68 girls’ hostels and open 440 ICT training centers in various schools this year.
Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo, Naresh Kumar Gupta, Jugal Kishore, Surinder Choudhary, Dr. Shehnaz Ganai raised supplementaries to the main question.
