PULWAMA — Burglars, on the intervening Sunday-Monday night, stole over 250 apple boxes from the orchards of Wachpora Murran area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Reports reaching CNS said that the boxes with the estimated market value of 3 lakhs had been stored in a shed owned by a local grower Irshad Ahmad Shah son of Sayed Saif ud Din Shah.
Confirming the incident, a police official told CNS that a team is on the spot and investigations in this regard have been initiated.
Pertinently, several incidents of apple theft were also reported from the district and authorities are clueless to take any action against these burglars.
The thefts have alarmed the people of the area who have appealed to the police authorities to nab the culprits at the earliest.
