PULWAMA — The District Magistrate Pulwama, Baseer-ul-Haq Choudhary, on Thursday said that there will be complete Corona curfew in the district on Friday.
The DM Pulwama posted a tweet on his handle, according to which, only essential services as permitted in the order dated 31.05.2021 shall be allowed.
He wrote, “There will be complete corona curfew tomorrow i.e. 04.06.2021 (Friday) in Pulwama district. Only essential services as permitted in the order dated 31.05.2021 shall be allowed.”
Pertinently, the DM Pulwama on Monday issued an unlock roster for opening of shops in the valley’s southern district.
An order issued in this connection read that the District Magistrates have been directed to devise mechanism/pattern for operationalization of business establishments within the district and in this regard, the DM Pulwama has ordered for a patterned or roster-based opening of shops in the district.
As per the unlock roster for opening of shops in the district, Mobile shops, Electrical/Electronic shops and Hardware shops were slated to open on Friday (04-06-2021).
Given the fact that there is imposition of daily night curfew from 8 PM to 7 AM the next day and the weekend curfew with effect from 8 PM each Friday till 7 AM each Monday with only permissible activities, the shopkeepers are questioning the ‘unlock’ roster itself.
One of the shopkeepers, Adil Ahmad, running a photostat shop said he was clueless whether to open his shop or not. “I don’t know which category and day is there in the roster for me to open my shop. Even I got the roster but I can’t figure out,” he said.
“This is not a roster for opening of shops but closing of businesses altogether,” another irked shopkeeper, Nisar Ahmad said while reacting to the latest tweet by the DM Pulwama.
