
SHOPIAN — Four residential houses were gutted in a devastated fire incident in a village in south Kashmir’s Shopian district. The fire broke out in Trenz village.
Eyewitnesses said that smoke started emanating from the house of one Showkat Ahmad Dar alias Bitu that spread quickly and engulfed three other houses.
Witnesses added that four houses were completely damaged in the incident. These houses belonged to Showkat Ahmad Dar, Muhammad Ismail Dar, Wali Muhammad Dar and Ghulam Ahmad Dar.
They said that fire tenders arrived in the village and tried to put out the fire with the help of local population, however, till the fire was doused, it had razed four houses to ground.
Locals said that short-circuit was probably the cause of fire. A police official, however, said that they are investigating the matter and trying to find out the cause behind this devastating fire incident.
