Female patient from Budgam dies of COVID Pneumonia

SRINAGAR — COVID-19 infection has claimed one more life in Jammu and Kashmir and this time the patient hails from central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

With this death, the death toll reached 19 in Jammu and Kashmir. In Kashmir valley, 17 patients have died of COVID-19 infection while 2 died in Jammu.

The female died at Chest Disease Hospital Srinagar during morning hours today.

Medical Superintendent, CD Hospital, Dr Salim Tak said that an elderly female patient above 70 years of age died in the hospital due to COVID-Pneumonia. He said the patient hails from Parisabad area of Budgam.

“She was suffering from chronic lung pneumonia and was declared COVID-19 positive. The patient was shifted from SMHS Hospital to CD Hospital on 18 May this month and today, she died during morning hours,” he said.
