Fire breaks out at Awoora village in Kupwara

KUPWARA — A mysterious fire damaged a large chunk of Social Forest area in Awoora village of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Official sources said that Social Forest area in Awoora caught fire on Tuesday late night that damaged its flora and fauna.

Fire tenders rushed to the spot while civilians and employees of the department also helped in dousing the fire. The fire was brought under control after hard efforts.

A Forest official said that forest fire is a common phenomenon. He said that fire was brought under control due to quick response from employees and civilians of the area.
