
SRINAGAR — Indian Army on Sunday claimed to have foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control in Keran secctor in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district by killing five militants. A solider was also killed in the operation.
Defense spokesperson in Srinagar, Colonel Rajesh Kalia said five militants were killed. He said a solider was also killed.
He said that a group of militants made an infiltration attempt in Keran sector, alert troops braving the inclement weather and hostile terrain, have so far killed five militants.
He said a solider was also killed in the ongoing operation and two more are critically injured, while the evacuation of the injured is hampered due to heavy snow and rough terrain conditions. He furthermore said that the operation in Keran sector is underway.
He also claimed that security forces in last 24 hours have killed nine militants, including four of them killed in Batpura area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam on Saturday and five at ongoing operation at Keran.
