Gunfight rages in Anantnag village

SRINAGAR — In less than 24 hours, another gunfight has raged between militants and government forces in Anantnag district’s Waghoma area.

Reports reaching here said that a joint team of Army’s 3RR and SOG Anantnag cordoned off Waghoma area.

A senior Police officer said that contact has been established with hiding militants after having credible inputs about their presence in the area.

As per sources, two to three JeM militants are believed to be trapped including some foreigners.

As this report was being filed, intermittent firing was going on.
