SRINAGAR — One Hizbul Mujahideen militant has been in killed in an ongoing encounter in Larnoo area of Cherri in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Official sources said that one Hizb militant has been killed while the operation continues and one AK-47 rifle was also recovered. However, the identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained.
Pertinently, 183 militants have been killed so far this year in the Valley.
Earlier, reports reaching here said that a joint team of Police and Army’s 19RR launched a cordon and search operation in Larnoo village.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.
