IED found on Srinagar-Baramulla road defused

BARAMULLA — Security forces on Tuesday morning detected an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on Srinagar-Baramulla road, a police officer said.

A patrol party of 29RR in Tapper area of Pattan noticed a suspicious object near petrol pump on Srinagar-Baramulla Highway and immediately called for a bomb disposal squad, SDPO Pattan, Zaffar Mehdi, said.

To avert civilian casualties, the Police and Army cordoned off the area, taking adequate security measures and neutralised the Improvised Explosive Device in the same place by employing their expert bomb disposal squad. he said.
