SRINAGAR — A top commander of Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) among two militants was killed in a gunfight in Wanigam Payeen area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday.
Official sources said that two JeM militants were killed in an encounter.
As per the sources, slain militants have been identified as Abrar alias Langoo from Pakistan and Amir Siraj from Sopore. However, official confirmation is yet to come.
Amir had gone missing on June 24 this year and was said to be an ace footballer.
Earlier, after eight hours of standoff between militants and security forces in Wanigam area, the militants were tracked and subsequently engaged.
