SRINAGAR — A 24-year-old labourer drowned while extracting sand from river Jhelum in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday morning.
An official said that a group of men were extracting sand from the banks of river Jhelum at Kakapora area in Pulwama today morning. He said that however, a labourer, identified as Manzoor Ahmad son of Mushtaq Ahmed, a resident of Hayatpora, slipped and fell into the river.
He said that after receiving the information, search operation was launched to trace out his body.
