
SRINAGAR — Suspected militants on Sunday morning shot at and critically injured a man affiliated to BJP in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district.
A police official said that militants fired upon a BJP district president for Other Backward Classes (OBCs), identified as Abdul Hamid Najar (38) son of late Mohammad Jamal Najar, resident of Ompora Mehndi Pora area of Budgam district.
He said that militants fired upon him near railway station Ompora when he was on a morning walk, leaving him critically injured.
He has received bullet injuries in abdomen and has been shifted to SMHS Hospital in critical conditions for treatment, he said, adding that whole area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers.
