Militant associate arrested from Pampore: Police

SRINAGAR — A militant associate having affiliation with Lashkar-e-Taiba has been arrested from Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday, Jammu and Kashmir Police claimed in a statement.

An official said that government forces arrested a militant associate of Lashkar-e-Taiba, who was involved in providing logistic support and shelter to the Lashkar militants.

“He is also involved in transporting arms and ammunition of the militants in Khrew, Kakapora and Pampore areas,” the official said.

A police statement identified the arrested militant associate as Haris Shareef Rather, a resident of Zaffron Colony Pampore.

The statement added that incriminating material has been recovered from his possession, which has been seized by the police.

Meanwhile, police has registered F.I.R in this regard in Police Station Pampore, under number 84/2020 under relevant sections of Unlawful Activities Act.
