Srinagar: Militants on Sunday evening attacked an Army camp in Ahgam area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Reports reaching here said that the suspected militants fired indiscriminately towards the camp of 44 RR camp in Ahgam. The fire was retaliated by Army, triggering off a brief exchange of firing.
SSP Shopian, Sandeep Chaudhary said that it was a stray firing by militants from a distance on 44RR camp. “The alert sentry retaliated,” he said.
The officer further said that there was no loss of life or injury reported in this incident.
Meanwhile, militants managed to escape from the spot while taking advantage of darkness. (GNS)
