Militant’s dead body found as gunfight goes on in Pulwama

SRINAGAR — One militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter at Dalipora area of Pulwama.

An official confirmed that one militant body has been recovered whose identification is being ascertained while operation is on in the area.

“In initial exchange of fire, four including three Army men and one civilian was injured,” he said.

Earlier, predawn gunfight raged between militants and government forces in Dalipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

An official said that a joint team of forces including Army’s 55 RR and SOG Pulwama cordoned off Dalipora after having credible input about presence of some militants in the area.

The searches were intensified in the area where militants were hiding. They fired upon government forces, resulting in an encounter.
