Missing since two days, man found dead in Kulgam

KULGAM — A dead body of a 34-year-old man was recovered on the bank of the Vaishaw river in Kulgam district on Thursday morning.

Official sources said that some locals spotted a dead body lying on the bank of the river near DIET College Kulgam and informed police about it.

A police team immediately reached the spot and took the body to district hospital Kulgam for medico-legal formalities including the postmortem.

Police official while confirming the incident identified the deceased as Nazir Ahmad Khan (22) son in law of Chudiya Khatana of Poonch.

Sources said that Nazir was missing since last two days.

“A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigations to ascertain the cause of death has been launched,” he said.
