Missing teen in Pulwama reportedly joins militant ranks

PULWAMA — A missing youth in southern Kashmir valley’s Pulwama district has reportedly joined militant ranks.

The young boy, identified as Shoaib Shafi Bhat son of Muhammad Shafi from Charsoo Awantipora, went missing on July 12. After his disappearance, a missing report was lodged at Police Station Awantipora, local sources said.

On Thursday, a picture of Shoaib holding a gun went viral on social media, which announced his joining into militant ranks. Shoaib Shafi is aged 19 years and was studying Paramedical science.

After the report of the disappearance was lodged, his parents appealed to the public through a video to help them find their son.

It is noteworthy to mention that in recent months, many young people from south Kashmir joined militant ranks after they went missing from their localities.
