Mysterious blast leaves two labourers dead in Anantnag

ANANTNAG — Two labourers were killed while two were injured in a mysterious blast at an Army ammunition depot camp in Khundroo area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Official sources said at around 12:45 PM, there was a blast at ammunition lab Khundroo in which two ATA (Ammunition Technician Area) labourers died on the spot and two were injured.

The official identified the deceased as Fayaz Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Hassan Bhat, resident of Pahloo and Gulzar Ahmad Khan son of Mir Alam, resident of Uttersoo Maidphall.

“The injured persons have been identified as Fida Hussain and Shabir Ahmad, who are undergoing treatment at GMC Anantnag,” he added.

A senior police official, while confirming the incident, said that they are investigating the nature of the blast.
