Petrol bomb hurled at ULB candidate’s house

QAZIGUND — Unknown persons on Sunday late evening lobbed a petrol bomb at the residence of ULB independent candidate of Panzath area of Qazigund in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Reports reaching here said that a petrol bomb was hurled at the residence of Aijaz Qadri who is the independent candidate for ULB (Urban Local Body) polls.

The window of the house of Aijaz Qadri caught fire due to the attack but the fire was immediately extinguished. Aijaz was present with his family at his home at the time of incident.

However, there was no loss of life or injury reported in the petrol bomb attack. Police said that they are verifying the incident.

It is pertinent to mention here that the ULB candidate has joined Congress party.
