SRINAGAR — Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kulgam have attached the residential house of a drug peddler on Tuesday, a spokesman said.
“Continuing its action against drug peddlers, Police in Kulgam attached property (single-storey residential house) worth approx. Rs 1,014,894, measuring 976.76 sq. ft belonging to a notorious drug peddler namely Ghulam Mohammad Mir @ Gull Kasai son of Mohd Abdullah Mir, resident of Bugam,” a police statement issued to the news agency KNO reads.
The action was taken under sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of NDPS Act of 1985 and is linked with case FIR No. 166/2015 U/S 8/15 of NDPS Act and 77/2022 U/S 8/15 of NDPS Act of Police Station Kulgam, it said.
The property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of the investigation conducted by Kulgam Police. The property was prima facie acquired from the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by the said drug peddler, the statement said.
