The BJP government had claimed that with abrogation of the Article 370, peace will return to Kashmir. However, regional political parties have criticized the government for imposing curbs today in Srinagar and other towns.

A meeting was scheduled at the residence of National Conference president Farooq Abdullah, however, police has sealed the roads leading to his house, not allowing the meeting.

BJP-led government had abrogated Article 370 on August 5 last year and bifurcated the State of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union territories of J&K and Ladakh.
