GANDERBAL — At least seven persons were injured in a road mishap on Srinagar-Leh highway at Sonamarg area in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Sunday.

Reports reaching here said that a passenger cab bearing registration number JK06-4805 carrying seven persons was traveling from Srinagar to Kargil when it collided with a truck bearing registration number JK02S-4175 coming from the opposite direction.

“Seven persons traveling in the passenger cab were injured in the accident,” police sources said.

They said that all the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital where from they were shifted to sub district hospital Kangan for further treatment.

A senior police officer confirmed the incident and identified the injured as Muhammad Sharief Tak (30), Muhammad Yousuf Shah (30), Krishan Lal (55), Narayan Singh (50), Nawaz Ahmad Malik (28), Muzamil Ahmad Malik (28) and Himmat Singh (34), all residents of Doda.

“A case has been registered and further investigation was taken up,” he said.
