Hailstorm hits many villages of Kupwara

SRINAGAR — The recent hailstorm has devastated the farmers of Dhobijan area of Shopian in south Kashmir as their entire crop has been destroyed, leaving them in financial distress.

“Advance payments from apple traders have been halted, exacerbating their challenges. The farmers now face an uncertain future, unsure of how to survive this economic crisis without any viable crops,” the farmers told the news agency KNS.

The farmers, plagued by shattered hope, are now placing their expectations on the mercy of the government. They fervently appeal to the authorities, urging them to provide necessary compensation for their losses.

JK Kisan leader, Ab Rashid Pandith visited the hailstorm-affected area, passionately appealing to the government.

He urged them to consider waiving off the loans of the farmers and providing free ration for the upcoming season.
