Shot at by militants, BJP worker succumbs in hospital

SRINAGAR — The critically injured BJP worker who was earlier shot at by militants in Ompora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Sunday succumbed to injuries at SMHS Hospital on Monday morning.

The man identified as Abdul Hamid Najar, a resident of Ompora, Mehndi Pora area of Budgam was shot at by suspected militants, resulting in serious injuries to him.

In the incident, Abdul Hamid received bullet wounds in his abdomen and leg, however, he was immediately shifted to SMHS Hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to injuries this morning, a police official said.
