Six youth detained in Pulwama’s Rajpora area

Pulwama: At least six youth were arrested in Rajpora village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district last night, residents of the village said.

As per the residents, government forces arrived in the village last night and started questioning the youth after raiding many houses. Consequently, the youth were detained.

Talking to The Kashmir Pulse, a resident (name withheld) of the village said, “Government forces arrived in the village last night and arrested six youth.”

The detained youth were identified as Mohsin Farooq, Muzzamil Ahmad Wani, Owais Ahmad Dar, Anlif Rasheed, Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir and Tamil Muzzafar.

While confirming the action, sources from the police said that the youth have been picked up for their involvement in stone-pelting incidents.

Pertinently, the action by the government forces comes after an encounter took place in the area on 29 December in which four militants were killed.
