Theives make failed attempt to loot shrine in Shopian

SHOPIAN — Burglars on Sunday night attempted to loot a shrine in Wachi area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

Reports reaching here said that the burglary attempt was made at the Shrine of Shareef Shah-e-Hamdan (RA), but the theives failed in their attempt and only managed to cut the wires of CCTV camera.

After the burglary attempt, panic gripped among the locals there. They urged the police to take strong measures to stop such attempts as according to them this is the second incident in last 20 days.

A police official while confirming the incident said that we are looking into all the angles in it.
