Three militants killed as searches continue in Baramulla

SRINAGAR — Three militants were killed, an Army Major and two policemen were also injured in an encounter in Yadipora area of Pattan in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Official sources said that three militants were killed in an encounter. However, their identification couldn’t be ascertained yet.

Official sources further said that an Army Major and two policemen were also injured during the exchange of fire.

Earlier, according to the reports reaching here, a joint team of Police, Army’s 29 RR and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Yadipora.

As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.
