Trooper, 4-year-old boy killed as militants attack CRPF in Bijbehara

SRINAGAR — A CRPF trooper and a 4-year-old boy were killed after militants attacked paramilitary forces in Bijbehara area in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday afternoon.

Reports reaching here said that militants attacked 90 battalion CRPF near Padshahi Bagh this afternoon.

One CRPF personnel identified as Shyamal Kumar and a 4-year-old boy, Nihaan Bhat son of Mohammad Yaseen Bhat of Machoo Kulgam, suffered critical injuries and were removed to hospital but succumbed to their injuries.

BMO Bijbehara said that two persons including a CRPF personnel and the boy were brought dead to the health facility.

Meanwhile, the entire area has been cordoned off to nab the attackers, officials said.
