ANANTNAG — A para-military trooper and a civilian sustained injuries after militants lobbed a grenade towards a check post in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Official sources said that after lobbing a grenade, militants fired some shots towards para-military forces personnel of 96 Battalion D-Company. The troopers also retaliated, forcing militants to flee from the spot.
A trooper sustained splinter injuries in the grenade attack and was shifted to hospital where his condition is stated to be stable. The condition of the injured civilian is also stable.
The incident occurred at Achabal area of the district.
A search operation was underway after the attack took place.
