Two militants killed in ongoing gunfight with security forces in Anantnag

SRINAGAR — Two unidentified militants have been killed in an ongoing gunfight with security forces in Shangus Larnoo forest area of southern Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday.

An unnamed top police officer, quoted by the news agency GNS, said that two militants have been killed so far as an operation is underway in the forest area of Shangus Larnoo. “Probably one more is trapped.”

The operation was launched by police and security forces after receiving specific input about the presence of some militants in the area, he said.
