
SRINAGAR — Two soldiers, who were seriously injured in the gunfight at Keran sector in Kupwara district, succumbed to their injuries, taking the total number of casualities to eight including five militants and three soldiers.
Defence spokesperson, Colonel Rajesh Kalia said two injured soldiers have succumbed to their injuries. “Unfortunately two more soldiers succumbed to their injuries, others are presently undergoing treatment,” Col Kalia said.
He said that despite prevailing inclement weather conditions, casualties have been evacuated. He added that three soldiers have died so far in the ongoing operation at Keran sector.
Earlier, he said that five infiltrators and a soldier was killed while two soliders had suffered critical injuries.
He said that operation is still on in the area.
