JAMMU — Government forces on Monday detained two suspected persons from Gool area of Ramban district.
In a statement issued here, an Army spokesman in Udhampur said that based on specific intelligence inputs, security forces conducted an operation in village Harah of Gool tehsil during early hours today.
“During the operation, the security forces apprehended two suspected terrorists and recovered one AK-47 assault rifle with ammunition, personal items and cash worth Rs. 8871 from their possession,” the statement said.
Sources said that both individuals belong to south Kashmir and are in their teens. “They intended to join Lashkar-e-Toiba militant outfit,” sources added.
“The timely apprehension of suspected terrorists and recovery of war like stores has thwarted the nefarious design of terrorist organization to spread the “arc of militancy” in south of Pir Panjal range,” the Army statement said.
