Dead body recovered in Kokernag

KOKERNAG — A mentally unsound person was found dead in Brengi Nallah in Kokernag area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Sunday morning.

An official said that some locals spotted the male body lying in river at Adigam area and immediately informed police about it.

Soon after being informed, a police team reached the spot and recovered the body, they said.

They identified the deceased as Rafiq Ahmad Chouhan (42), son of Abdul Gani Chouhan from Cheirward, Kokernag.

Meanwhile, a police official while confirming the incident said that a case under 174 CrPc has been registered and further investigation has been taken up.
