Woman, PDD daily wager electrocuted in Valley

Electric Shock Warning

SRINAGAR — A 70-year-old woman died of electric shock in north Kashmir’s Handwara town.

Police sources said that an old woman received an electric shock near her home and she died on the spot.

Sources identified the elderly woman as Safeen Begum, wife of Syed Mehtab Shah of Sonmulla Putwa area of Handwara.

After the incident, Police Station Vilgam registered a case in this regard.

Meanwhile, a daily rated worker working in Power Development Department (PDD) was injured after receiving electric shock while performing his duties at Ompora area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

The victim who is undergoing treatment in the hospital has been identified as Abdul Rashid Teli of Zooribagh, Budgam.

Police Station Budgam has registered a case in this regard and set investigation into motion.
