Youth drowns to death in Shopian

SRINAGAR — A 24-year-old youth drowned to death in Nallah Reshinagri in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday afternoon.

An official said that a youth drowned to death while taking bath in Nallah Reshnagri in Shopian district.

He said that locals present there tried to rescue him but it took over one hour to retrieve his body. He was shifted to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, he said.

The official identified the deceased youth as Idrees Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Rashid Mir of Oyel Damhal area of Kulgam district.

A police officer while confirming his death said that a case in this regard has been registered and further investigations are going on.
