Chinese corporal captured by Indian Army in Ladakh

SRINAGAR — A Chinese soldier was captured by Indian Army near a forward area of Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh on Monday morning, who according to set protocols between the two countries will be returned back, after the fulfillment of formalities.

A New Delhi based news channel reported that a Chinese trooper was captured by Indian Army near Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Demchok area of Ladakh on Monday morning.

According to the report, the captured soldier is a corporal in People’s Liberation Army (PLA) from Shanxi, assigned with the job of repairing firearms. He was reportedly caught with civil and military documents.

The TV news channel, without naming the official, quoted him as having said that after ruling out espionage angle, the captured soldier will be handed over back to Chinese authorities.
