
SRINAGAR — The Meteorological Department (MeT) on Tuesday predicted fresh spell of rain from March 31 to April 02.
Director MeT, Sonum Lotus said that currently weather is generally cloudy in Ladakh and Kashmir and mainly clear in Jammu region. However, he predicted fresh spell of rain from March 31 to April 02.
“A fresh spell of intermittent light to moderate rain in plains and snowfall over higher reaches of J&K and Zojila, Drass and some areas of Zanskar region of Ladakh is likely from March 31 night to April 02 forenoon,” he said.
He said that thunderstorm with strong gusty winds of the order of 30-40 KMPH will occur during above period, and added, “In view of this, farmers are informed to postpone spraying of their orchards, prepare drainage to drain excess water from their fields”.
MeT Director also appealed people to stay indoors to take care of themselves and other family members by using of sanitizers and washing hands regularly in wake of COVID-19 outbreak.
