KULGAM — The Office of the Chief Education Officer (CEO), Kulgam, has issued an official advertisement notice inviting applications from eligible post-graduate candidates for academic arrangements on a contractual basis at the +2 level for the academic session 2015.
Based on the notification, these positions are strictly restricted to candidates belonging to District Kulgam. Selected candidates will receive a monthly consolidated honorarium of Rs. 7,000.
Engagement Terms and Duration
The initial engagement is set for a period of 59 days. Any further continuation will depend on the candidate’s performance, behaviour, institutional requirements, or until the posts are permanently filled by the Public Service Commission (PSC) or through departmental promotion, whichever occurs first. The notification explicitly clarifies that this temporary arrangement will not grant candidates any preferential claim for regular appointments in the future.
Eligibility and Required Documents
Applicants must submit their applications on a prescribed format, which must be duly attested by the Principal of the nearest Higher Secondary School. The application must also be accompanied by a sworn affidavit attested by a First Class Judicial Magistrate.
Candidates need to enclose self-signed and Gazetted Officer-attested photocopies of the following documents:
- Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC)
- Matriculation Certificate (for Date of Birth verification)
- Post-Graduation Marks Sheets (All Semesters)
- B.Ed, M.Ed, M.Phil, and Ph.D. Certificates (if applicable)
- NET/SET Certificates (if applicable)
- Experience Certificates of teaching at the +2 level (strictly from Government institutions), indicating the percentage of results registered and the number of months served.

The contractual vacancies span a wide array of subjects, including: English, Zoology, Botany, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Political Science, Education, Urdu, Commerce, Stenography, Economics, Sociology, History, Geography, Environmental Science, Information Technology (IT), Kashmiri, Functional English, Psychology, Persian, Statistics, and Hindi.
Selection Criteria
The selection process will be strictly merit-based, evaluating candidates according to the following point system:
- PG Degree: Up to 60 points (prorata basis)
- B.Ed Degree: Up to 15 points (prorata basis)
- M.Ed Degree: Up to 5 points (prorata basis)
- M.Phil / Ph.D / NET/SET: 5 points each
- Experience: Up to 5 points (One point for each full session year, provided the class result was not below 33%).
Deadline
Interested and eligible candidates must deposit their completed applications in a file cover against a proper receipt at the Mini-Secretariat Kulgam office by or before January 31, 2015. The education office has warned that no applications will be entertained after the cutoff date.
