SRINAGAR — The Jammu & Kashmir State Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has officially released the date sheet for the Higher Secondary Examination Part-I (Class 11th) for the Term-2nd and Term-1st session for November 2012.
The examinations will be held in recognised Higher Secondary Schools across the Kashmir Province under the Continuous & Comprehensive Evaluation Scheme, with the exclusion of District Kargil.
The exams are scheduled to commence on Monday, November 5, 2012, and will conclude on Wednesday, November 21, 2012.
The tests will be conducted in two shifts. The morning session will begin at 10:30 AM for the Second Term, which caters to Regular, Fresh Private, and Failure candidates. The evening session will take place at 02:00 PM for First Term candidates.
The examination period will begin on November 5 with Physics for Science students, and History and elective Home Science for Arts students. A common examination for General English across all faculties—Science, Arts, Home Science, and Commerce—will take place on Thursday, November 15, 2012. The written exams will wrap up on November 21, with subjects including Computer Science, Environmental Science, Islamic Studies, and Physical Education, among others.
The board has outlined specific guidelines for candidates who missed the Term-1 test for cogent reasons, as well as those who changed subjects after the first term. These students will be permitted to appear for both Term-1 and Term-2 tests on the same day, provided they are registered with the Board and enrolled with proper permission. For these students, the Second Term Test will be administered in the morning, while the First Term Test for the same subject will be given in the evening session.
Furthermore, JKBOSE has directed the heads of all recognised and affiliated institutions (both Government and Private) to personally collect the confidential sealed question papers. These materials must be collected from the respective Sub/Branch offices of the Board or the BOSE office in Bemina, Srinagar, two days prior to the start of the exams.
The board emphasised that institution heads will be held personally responsible for the safety and custody of these materials, warning that action will be taken in the event of any mishap.
Following the conclusion of the written papers, practical tests in various subjects will begin the next day immediately. Heads of institutions have been instructed by the Joint Secretary of Examinations for the Kashmir Division to make the necessary arrangements accordingly.
