Revised Date Sheet for Mid-Term Test of B.A / B.Sc 1st & 2nd Year – GDC Bijbehara

SRINAGAR — In a step toward restoring academic normalcy following recent devastating floods, the Government Degree College (GDC) in Bijbehara has released a revised date sheet for its mid-term examinations.

The official notification, issued by the Office of the Principal, confirmed that the mid-term tests for first- and second-year B.A. and B.Sc. students, which were previously suspended due to the floods, have now been rescheduled to begin on Monday, October 13, 2014.

The examinations will be conducted over a six-day period, concluding on Saturday, October 18, 2014. To accommodate the students and the rescheduled subjects, the college has split the testing into two daily shifts. The morning session is slated to run from 10:30 AM to 12:00 Noon, while the evening session will take place from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM.

According to the newly published schedule, first-year students will sit for their exams predominantly during the morning sessions. Their examinations will cover core Arts and Science subjects, kicking off with Education on October 13, followed by Islamic Studies/Economics, Computer Application, Arabic, and concluding with Political Science/Chemistry on October 18.

Second-year students will primarily take their exams during the evening sessions on the same dates, covering a similar progression of subjects with the addition of Environmental Science on October 15. The only exception to the evening schedule for second-year students is the Computer Application exam, which has been assigned a morning slot on Friday, October 17.

The notification, signed by Principal Prof. N.A. Chirag and Examination Coordinator Prof. Shabir Ahmad Rather, also provided an update on the resumption of normal academic activities. Regular classwork for all students is officially scheduled to restart on Monday, October 20, 2014, immediately following the conclusion of the mid-term tests.

The rescheduling brings much-needed clarity to the student body as the Kashmir Valley continues its recovery efforts following the severe flooding that disrupted public life and institutional operations across the region.
