SRINAGAR — The University of Kashmir has officially released its admission guidelines for several highly sought-after professional programs for the upcoming academic session.
Issued by the Office of the Dean Academic Affairs, the new circular standardizes the admission process for its management, engineering, and pharmacy courses by integrating national-level entrance test scores.
According to Circular-2, dated January 20, 2015, the university will rely heavily on established competitive examinations such as CMAT, UGAT, JEE Main, and GPAT to shortlist eligible candidates.
Breakdown of Admission Criteria:
- Management Programs (MBA/MBA Finance/MTHM): Candidates aiming for a Master of Business Administration, MBA in Finance, or Master of Travel and Hospitality Management will be evaluated on a three-tier system. This includes a valid CMAT score, performance in a Group Discussion (GD), and a personal Interview.
- Integrated Management (5-Year IMBA): High school graduates looking to join the 5-year Integrated MBA program will be assessed based on their UGAT score, their marks in the qualifying examination, and their performance in a subsequent GD and Interview.
- Engineering (B.Tech): Admissions to the university’s B.Tech courses will be determined strictly by the candidate’s latest 2015 JEE Main (Paper-I) score.
- Pharmacy (M.Pharm): Aspirants for the Master of Pharmacy program must secure a valid GPAT score to be eligible for admission.
The official Circular – 2 is provided for the concerned candidates as follows:

The university administration emphasized that it will be conducting separate group discussions and interviews for its various management courses, including MBA, MBA (Finance), MTHM, MCME, and IMBA.
