SRINAGAR — Indin Army successfully conducted the much-awaited Jammu and Kashmir Special Scholarship Scheme (JKSSS) screening cum merit entrance examination in Kashmir Valley. Around 2,000 students participated in this examination.
The Jammu division exam is scheduled for July 28, and the Ladakh division exam will take place on July 30, following the extension dates.
“Although many students were unable to submit the required documents or complete registration due to a lack of communication among the Army units, the overall participation was commendable,” said an official.
Since its inception in 2021, JKSSS has gained much popularity, with around 800 students from Kashmir alone benefiting from it.
The prestigious JKSSS scheme, initiated by the Indian Army, aims to provide educational opportunities to meritorious students from economically weaker sections of society in Jammu and Kashmir.
The HQ Northern Command started the higher education scholarship scheme (JKSSS) in 2021, which has proven to be a beacon of hope and progress for the youth of the region. This scheme has played a pivotal role in augmenting patriotism and promoting national integration among the youth of Jammu and Kashmir by bridging the gap between the Indian Army and the local populace.
The scheme has facilitated a sense of unity and belonging, crucial for the harmonious development of this region. It directly benefits the youth by providing educational opportunities.
While interacting with a large number of students and parents, many expressed hope for a chance to be selected and prayed for an increased number of seats in Northern Command Udhampur, to secure the future of countless deserving students. They believe that this will allow them to contribute significantly to the nation’s progress and unity.
