NEW DELHI — Nokia, which today launched the Lumia 730 and Lumia 830 smartphones, has also announced the high-end Lumia 930 for India. The smartphone is priced at Rs 38,649 and will be available from October 15 onwards.
The Lumia 930 features a nice 9.8 mm thick profile with a new design that gives a cleaner yet mono-block look to the smartphone. There is an Aluminum frame running around the device, sports metallic accents and a curved polycarbonate back.
Nokia Lumia 930 features a 5-inch OLED display with full HD (1080p) resolution and touts the ClearBlack technology for darker blacks. Pushing the pixel density of 441 pixels per inch, the display has been manufactured using the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 technology to make it slimmer, lighter and provide protection against wear-tear.
This large-screen device is powered by the quad-core 2.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 mobile chipset paired with 2 GB RAM and offers 32 GB onboard storage. There is no memory card in this smartphone and it supports Nano SIM type module.
Sporting the Monoblock touch form factor, Nokia has placed the operation keys – Back, Menu and Search buttons just below the display area. Nokia has implemented a 20-megapixel image sensor integrating the PureView imaging technology and there are Carl Zeiss optics used to help it out. With a 1/2.5-inch sensor, the camera offers f/2.4 aperture and a focus range of 10 cm. Nokia has added Dual-LED flash to help out in dark environments.
Nokia promises crisp and sharp images using the PureView imaging technology via a 20 MP camera trotting Carl Zeiss optics. The camera can record full HD videos and it has four high-performance microphones to record high-quality audio as well.
The Lumia exclusive apps such as Storyteller, Refocus, Panorama, Cinemagraph, Creative Studio and Nokia Camera app come pre-loaded on this smartphone.
Nokia has also integrated the Dolby Surround Sound technology for a rich audio experience while playing recorded videos and enjoying other music files. Lumia 930 packs Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy, WiFi (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac) along with WiFi Channel bonding and screen projection, USB 2.0 port and Near Field Communication support.
Nokia Lumia 930 also integrates the high-speed 4G LTE network supporting Bands (800 Mhz, 2100 Mhz, 1800 Mhz, 2600 Mhz and 900 Mhz). Hopefully, Indian users will be able to use the Lumia 930 on the 1800 Mhz band whenever the LTE networks become active in select circles across the country. To run the Lumia 930 for above 15 hours, Nokia has packed a non-removable 2420 mAh battery and supports the Qi Standard for wireless charging.
