The district administration Srinagar on Friday announced the re-opening of markets and shops across the district first time after the pandemic amid strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) from June 13 (Saturday) onwards.

The Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation (JKSRTC) on Friday said that it will resume the intra-district bus services in Kashmir.

As part of Centre’s "Unlock 1.0" strategy to review the economy, authorities in Summer capital Srinagar decided to reopen markets in the city from tomorrow.

The final meeting to open shops in the city centre—Lal Chowk and other areas of Srinagar will be taken after a crucial meeting between traders and the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar tomorrow afternoon, official sources said.

The government in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday evening issued new guidelines to be followed during the lockdown period which will be effective from tomorrow till further orders.

HRD Minister Ramesh Nishank Pokhriyal in a June 03 interview revealed that schools and colleges which have remained closed since around March 16 will reopen after August 2020.

The Jammu and Kashmir government is likely to allow three-wheeler traffic and home delivery of food from restaurants in Summer capital Srinagar, sources said.

Amid continuous lockdown across Jammu and Kashmir, the government on Saturday said that fresh guidelines are being formulated and will be issued on June 08.
