Passport Office Srinagar will start functioning from Monday, June 8 after remaining closed for more that two months due to the lockdown in wake of COVID-19 pandemic.

The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Friday announced opening of all the offices across the Union Territory and directed all the officers and staff to attend their respective offices on regular basis on all working days from June 06.

Like in universities, students of undergrduate programmes in Kashmir would be promoted, based on internal assessment.

Alleging academic negligence and indiscrimination on part of authorities at SSM College, Pattan and Kashmir University, M.Tech students of 2018-20 batch at SSM College of Engineering on Monday said that the students were given admission through entrance test and Gate quota by Kashmir University in August 2018 and allotted the SSM College of Engineering, Pattan.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown, University of Kashmir (KU) has proposed to abandon entrance examination and instead select students on the basis of merit obtained in the qualifying examination.

Jammu and Kashmir Government has decided to continue with the guidelines and instructions in operation in the UT for lockdown measures, beyond May 31, the last day of 4.0 Lockdown, till June 8, 2020.

Srinagar administration has decided to continue with the lockdown in Srinagar district as per the previous notification.

The recent pandemic & lockdown has been difficult on everyone's part. While I was lucky to be home before lockdown, many others were not. They got stuck in Chandigarh and had no idea for how long!
