Srinagar: Job aspirants from various districts of Kashmir held a protest demonstration against Jammu & Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB) in Srinagar today.
The protest, in which the candidates were shouting “Jammu Se Mohabbat, Kashmir Se Nafrat”, was held in front of JKSSB office in Srinagar.
The protesting aspirants raised slogans against the chairman of the recruitment Board also who, according to them, is not sensitive about the sloppy rules announced for the aspirants from Kashmir region.
“We submitted our forms in 2014, 2015 and also appeared in Typing Test as per the criteria issued by the Board. We also appeared in Viva and submitted our Preferenc forms but the selection list of three Item No.s has not been issued yet,” said a protesting aspirant.
“Now the Board is telling us that they want to change the criteria of the selection. But candidates from both Jammu and Kashmir filled the forms against the same notification,” the candidate added.
The candidates demanded that their selection lists be declared without any further delay as their counterparts from Jammu are ‘drawing salaries after being selected according to the prevalent criteria’.
“This is sheer injustice against us. We appeal the government to look into this,” the protestors said.
“Government says that youth should have laptops and pens in their hands. We had exactly these as we appeared in the exams but to no avail,” a protesting candidate lamented.
