SHOPIAN — The Bhartiya Janata Party workers’ convention was held on Thursday at Circuit House Shopian, wherein J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina, Ashok Koul, Veer Saraf, Javid Qadri and other senior leaders and party workers participated.

While addressing the party workers, Ravinder Raina said that the local political parties’ politics survived on the blood and bodies of innocent Kashmiris. “BJP has now exposed their dirty political trade,” he added.

He said the BJP will emerge as a winner in the upcoming Assembly election, after which the UT’s traditional mainstream political parties will have no leg to stand on.

He further added that India will provide all the assistance in restoration of peace in Afghanistan and appealed international community to let the country play its part for maintaining peace in the conflict-torn South Asian country.

While speaking to the media, Mr Ravinder said that the recent drone attacks in Jammu were an act of terrorism by Pakistan, adding that the attacks were carried out with the backing of China.

Pertinently, it was the first convention held by the BJP where its UT head participated, even though Shopian is one of the most volatile districts in the southern Kashmir.
