PULWAMA — Authorities on Tuesday demolished ‘illegal’ structures, mostly footbridges, in the main town of southern Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

The ‘illegal’ footbridges were demolished by the Municipal Committee Pulwama while as officials from the police ensured their protection during the demolition drive.

The footbridges were constructed by shop owners along a water stream flowing through the main town, known as Dhobi Kul.

An official from the Municipal Committee Pulwama, wishing anonymity, said that they had received a written complaint in this connection.
