PULWAMA — Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Baseer-Ul-Haq Choudhary on Thursday asked the people of the district to cooperate with the authorities as the Coronavirus-induced lockdown will be in place for the next three days.

The DC Pulwama, while addressing a press conference, said that there are around 750 active positive cases of COVID-19 in the district among which around 50 patients are admitted in the hospitals.

“There will be a complete Corona curfew in the district from this evening (7 PM) until 7 AM on Monday and only essential services will be allowed during this period,” he said.

He added that people should come forward for vaccination and there will be no bar on the people who want to get vaccinated.

The DC said, “The only aim to impose the lockdown is to contain the further spread of the virus, so restriction on the movement of people is imperative.”

“If there is any genuine emergency, there are officials on the ground who will facilitate people. However, no one will be allowed to roam without any exigency and action, as per law, will be taken against the violators,” he said.
